  Look for the *dat files. Data in those files is in the same order as required for project 3. The correct output is in the corresponding *out file (ignore the funny looking prompts)

  A few line items on the coding standards summary regarding commenting were combined into one. This change will benefit you by having fewer points deducted for "bad" commenting.

  Several students have inquired about an .emacs file (note the leading dot) that will support syntax highlighting. Mr. Frey has provided such a .emacs file in his public directory /afs/umbc.edu/users/d/e/dennis/pub. Feel free to copy the .emacs file to your home directory

  1. The project 1 test data files used by the graders are available in Mr. Frey's public directory /afs/umbc.edu/users/d/e/dennis/pub/CMSC202/p1 and are named p1t1.dat, p1t2.dat, .... p1t5.dat. The correct output generated from these files are in files named p1t1.out, p1t2.out,... in the same directory. Feel free to copy these files to your local directory. If a point deduction was taken from your project for incorrect output, use these files to verify that your project works correctly if you plan to speak to your instructor about a grade change.

  Note that exam 1 is still scheduled for March 5th/6th and will not be rescheduled. It would be best to keep to the original due dates if at all possible to allow time for studying for exam 1.

  The Linux User's Group (LUG) has announced dates for some activities this semester. For more details, click on the link at the bottom of this page.
  Sunday, 2 Feb ECS 333, 1pm First LUG meeting of the semester! Come join the UMBC Linux Users Group in kicking off the Spring semester--with a pizza party! We'll have Linux CDs to give, new and old users to share experiences, and even a few installs going on. However, if you want guidance on an install, you should probably also come to the installfest next week! Wednesday, 5 Feb Main Street on the Commons, 11am-2pm Student Involvement Fest Swing by the Linux Users Group table in between classes, chat for a bit, and help to spread the word about Linux on campus. We'll have a laptop playing a DVD, Linux CDs, and flyers for the upcoming installfest. Sunday, 9 Feb ECS 333, 1pm Linux Installfest! Whether it's for a class you're taking or just simple curiosity, bring your machine and we'll help put the Linux distribution of your choice on it. Bring your machine, monitor, keyboard/mouse, cables (including power), and some fortitude to help you climb the learning curve, and we'll guide you through the install process. For more details, see http://lug.umbc.edu/installfest.html. Other events will be announced as they are scheduled--expect more to come!
