emacs -- when emacs and xemacs start, they look for a file in your
home directory named .emacs (note the "dot") for configuration
information. Use a text editor to create a file named .emacs in your home
directory that looks just like
this one to get automatic formatting in compliance
with CMSC 104 and CMSC 201 standards and to make your backspace key really
