The Assignment :
The purpose of this assignment is to help you get acquainted with a text editor, UMBC e-mail and basic Unix commands. This homework is worth 25 points. Late homework will NOT be accepted and will receive a score of 0.

In your UMBC GL account, use a text editor of your choice (emacs, vi, pico) to create a file named hw1.txt. In that file, write a paragraph or two that tells me something about you. That information MUST include the following:

    1. your name
    2. your social security number
    3. a summary of your computer experience

Use pine to send e-mail to your TA carefully following these directions:
    1. Attach a copy of hw1.txt to your message.
    2. The subject of your e-mail must be CMSC 104 – HW 1.
    3. The body of the message MUST include the following –
    1. your name
    2. your section number

4. Send a "carbon copy" to me (frey@cs.umbc.edu) and to yourself.

 This project will be graded based on your ability to submit the homework on time and to follow the directions list above.
