Parking Lot

The Objective

This project is designed to give you practice working with functions. It will also give you more practice working with while loops and switch statements.

The Background

Bubba's Parking Lot has been in business for the past 10 years. Over the years, Bubba has changed his system for producing customer receipts many times. Currently, he simply uses a cash register and his employees must figure out each customer's time spent in the parking lot by hand. Ugh! Finally, Bubba has decided he wants to move to a computer-based software program for producing receipts. You have been chosen to implement the software. The design specifications are given below.

The Task

Your job is to write a program that will print receipts for customers parking in Bubba's Parking Lot. The receipt should include the time the customer entered the lot, the time he or she left the lot, the total amount of hours spent in the lot (rounded up to the nearest hour), and the total charge for parking. You should prompt the user to enter the type of vehicle. The vehicle types allowed to park in the lot are cars, buses and trucks. In an effort to encourage people to park for a short period of time, two different hourly rates are used for each type of vehicle. Below is a chart listing the rates for each vehicle:

The functions you will write, in addition to the main function, are:

void PrintGreeting (void); - This function prints an explanation of the program to the user. You should assume the user knows nothing about the program and give a detailed explanation.
int GetValidInt (int min, int max); - This function reads an integer from the user and checks to make sure it is in the range min to max, inclusive.
int CalculateTime (int startHour, int startMin, int endHour, int endMin); - This function determines the total time spent in the lot. There are no partial hour charges, so you should round the number up to the nearest hour.
float CalculateTotalCharge (int totalHours, float firstRate, float secondRate); - This function calculates the total charge based on the number of hours spent in the lot. It takes the total hours, the rate for parking less than 3 hours and the rate for parking more than three hours.
void PrintReceipt(int startHour, int startMin, int endHour, int endMin, int totalHours, float totalCharge, char vehicleType); This function prints a receipt to the screen. It should list the type of car, the time the vehicle entered the lot, the time the vehicle left the lot, the total amount of hours (rounded) and the total charge. It does not have to match the sample output exactly but should be formatted nicely. You should print the hour and minute with a leading 0 if it is a single digit. For example, if the user entered 2 as the hour and 7 as the minute, it should be displayed as 02:07.

You must use the function prototypes as they are given and may not change them in any way. You may use additional functions if you wish.

You may assume that the end time the user enters will be greater than the start time. You may also assume that the customer will not remain in the lot later than midnight.
You should allow the user to enter either uppercase or lowercase letters for the type of vehicle.

Submitting the Program
