10/23 -- My office hours are cancelled today, Thursday, 10/23.
10/15 -- In an effort to better understand how students perceive the CS curriculum and instruction at UMBC, the CS department has developed a program-wide course survey to be administered to students in all CS courses. The survey is available on Blackboard. We will not be using Blackboard for any other purpose this semester. You can find the survey under Course Documents. The survey will be active from October 15 through October 31, so please take a few moments to complete it. If you'd like, there is a flyer you can read with some additional details. Thank you for taking the time to do it. I know you've had a lot of surveys to do this semester! :)
10/12 -- Homework 3 is not due until Wednesday, 10/15, before 11:59 p.m. We will discuss how to include images in class on Monday and Tuesday. When you are finished with the assignment, just leave it in your www directory and the grader will access it there. You do not have to email it.
10/06 -- Posted solutions for Homework 2.
10/01 -- Exam 1 sample questions have been posted.
09/30 -- My office hours will not begin until 3:30 (or so) today.
09/29 -- For section 0201: The homework 2 due date has been extended to the beginning of class on Wednesday, 10/1. For section 0401: The homework 2 due date has been extended to the beginning of class on Thursday, 10/2.

09/10 -- Reminder: This is the last day to add a class or to drop without a "W" on your transcript.
09/09 -- This announcement is now for both sections! For those who have Macs: To open a terminal, you go to Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal. Then type the following command:
```
              ssh gl.umbc.edu -l username
		
```
where username is your myUMBC username. The -l is the letter l, not the number 1. It will ask you for your password and then once you are logged in you will be in the same place you were when you logged in through TeraTerm on Thursday.
