Extension for CMSC 202 Spring '00 Project 1

Because many people are having difficulty downloading the Project 1 code into their gl account, the code, makefile, and sample input and output files have been placed in the public directory: /afs/umbc.edu/users/j/k/jkukla1/pub/cs202/Project1 You can simply copy the files from this directory into your directory.

Because of this and other problems related to student adjustment to new software and procedures, the Project 1 due date is extended to midnight, Sunday, February 13. The same late policy still applies (see CMSC 202 Project Late Policy for details).

In order to not penalize those who would have completed their projects by the original due date, the following will be done. If you submit your project by midnight, Friday, February 11 (the original date), you will receive an extra five points. (Projects are graded on a 100 point scale.) Projects submitted by midnight on Saturday receive no extra points.

Note that Project 2 will still be distributed during the week of the 14th and its due date will not change.
