12 November F & R banking has decided to offer extra compensation for students willing to provide additional functionality to project 4. See the new extra credit section of the project description.
12 November Some students had expressed an interest in attending a gdb tutorial in the evening, or on a Saturday, instead of the tutorial that was offered today. If you are interested, and are planning to attend, please email Mr. Raouf. Tutorials will be held in Mr Raouf's office.
Proposed times are
- Thursday 11/13 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Saturday 11/15 from 10:00 AM to Noon PM.
- 09 November - In preparation for the gdb tutorial, students should review one of the gdb tutorials available from links on this page.
- 05 November - The gdb tutorial is a go in room ITE 241 at 1:00pm on Wednesday 11/12/03
- 05 November - Mr. Frey is planning a gdb tutorial on Wednesday Nov 12th at 1:00pm. We are currently awaiting confirmation of the location of the room. The location will be posted here and announced in class and in labs when it is known.
- 05 November - Your instructors have provided a sample solution for project 3. The files can be found in Mr. Frey's public directory /afs/umbc.edu/users/d/e/dennis/pub/CMSC202/p3/solution. Time permitting, this solution may be reviewed in class. A discussion board has been established for those who wish to ask questions about the solution outside of class
- 27 October -- Effective Wednesday Oct 29th, Marc's office hours will change. Marc will hold office hours from 11:00 - noon on Wednesday's rather than from 7:30-8:30
- 27 October -- In project 3, DO NOT assume the dictionary file is in alphabetical order.
- 23 October -- more Sample Output for project 3 is now available.

- 08 October -- Midterm review questions have been posted.
- 07 October -- A reminder that there is no lab next week except for sections 0205 and 0207 (Monday daytime).

- 23 September -- A new survey reveals the top 20 repsonses by programmers when their programs don't work.
- 20 September -- The due date for Project 1 is hereby extended until 11:59pm on Thursday, Sept. 25th
- 17 September -- Project 1 posted.
- 11 September -- A new link to some helpful resources courtesy of the Help Center has been added below
- 10 September -- The Computer Science Help Center in ITE 201E is open for business. See their web page for hours of operation.

  Interested students can subscribe to the Linux Users Group's news or discussion board by following the procedure below
  UMBCLINUX -- this is where we have most of our discussions. To subscribe: Send mail to majordomo@lists.umbc.edu with the words "subscribe umbclinux" (without the quotes) in the body of the message.

  For ease of use, users of the GL systems and UMBC7/UMBC6 can also type: "subscribe LISTNAME", where LISTNAME is the name of the list to which you wish to subscribe, at the UNIX command line for the same functionality. GL and UMBC7/UMBC6 users can also use the unsubscribe command in a similar manner.
