                   An Interactive Workshop

                     January 9-11, 1994

This workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to learn
about and discuss methods of using the Internet to improve education
in the Information Age. In addition, participants will have a
hands-on opportunity to learn to use the Internet for communications,
conferencing, information retrieval, and other purposes which can
enhance education, research, and other areas.

The format of the workshop includes the brief presentation of critical
topics, small discussion sections, demonstrations of Internet-related
projects, and hands-on Internet training for both beginners and more
experienced Internet users. Participants will receive documentation
which will help them use and understand the Internet in the work
environment and which summarizes recent Internet- related education
projects. Equipped with these tools, participants will be ready to
begin planning the use of this technology in their own school
districts or to make better use of the technology if it is already
installed.
